Is Steve Poizner supportive of tax increases?

If you read his record from 2000 to 2004, the answer would seem to be 'yes'; since then he has evolved into a 'real conservative'

But first things first, the charges that he is a pro-tax politician...

The Republican Gubernatorial battle will hinge upon a few narrow conservative issues, one of the most important for California residence being taxes.

And it seems that Insurance Commission Steve Poizner will have the toughest time in defending his tax ideology in the gubernatorial race against Meg Whitman, due to the fact that he has a voting record to reference.

Charges have been launch...

Over the past nine years, Steve Poizner has supported ‘tax increases’ for the citizens of California six different times.

Today the Poizner For Governor Campaign replied with this comment:

“Steve Poizner is only candidate who has cut a budget voluntarily while increasing consumer effectiveness of office. The contrast on taxes will become very clear in this race: Tom Campbell is supporting a massive tax increase. Meg Whitman has praised the largest tax increase in state history.”

Water and Health Care News out of Sacramento...

We realize that water is a basic staple of life, we all need fresh water to survive. I say enough with agenda pandering and fearful tactics, it is time to build, maintain and prepare for the future with new dams.

Why do Democrats and Environmentalists want to build "under-ground" water storage? If a Dam can create hydro-electric energy, why would you support something that takes energy to 'pump' it out of the ground?

It's simple - build a few dams.

There were a couple of Town Hall Meetings in Sacramento last night; one featured Congressman Dan Lungren using a PA system from a local police vehicle to speak to the hundreds who couldn't make it into the hall for the meeting.

GOP candidate Paul Smith had another town hall in Sacramento. From Paul Smith, "In preparation for the Townhall meeting I conducted last night I read the entire bill. The meeting was attended by about 100 folks.

I spoke to Chris at Dan Lungren’s office and they had about 1000 show up last night and turned hundreds away. So folks are engaged and want to express their opinions to their elected leaders on Health Care."

Both of these posts are leading at HOGUE NEWS right now.

Where are we going to get the water to quench the thirst and basic needs of our citizens?

The citizens of this great state have already been stretched thin on the state’s water supply, which leaves us a short margin of success versus an egregious natural disaster and water demand. Federal judges continue to state that we must offer protection for endangered species like fish, salmon and the Delta Smelt.

What about the humans who call this state home, do they matter? Does the future of the state matter? There are numerous solution, but there is only one real answer. The longer we wait the more the humans suffer.

Where are the GOP Leaders...?

A Republican challenger has packed a conference room for a Town Hall Meeting on Health Care Reform, and the county Republican Party is a no show in support - not even attending to offer voter registration cards.

What is wrong with the GOP that they don't care enough to capitalize on an event that will gain more members, contributors and voters?

Why Obamacare has become a hot item for individual Republicans, it seems that "some county party leaders" are afraid to engage in this opportunity, why?

Where is the Sacramento County Republican Party; where is the money that many county members have contributed in hopes of capturing a major victory in Sacramento County?

A better, more pointed question: "Why is Paul Smith facing down Democrat Representative Doris Matsui without the help of 'one single dollar' from the Sacramento County Republican Party?

"Why is the SCRP so willing to lose the congressional seat without a sincere fight once again?" What is more important, your stupid by-laws, or up-setting a Democrat strong-hold in the 5th Congressional District in Sacramento? Even if you make the Democrats spend more money in the race its a big win for the GOP.

Obamacare offers interesting news...

As I was boarding a new Southwest plane at Midway International, my attention was drawn to the TV screen overhead. The CNN anchorette said, “President Obama seems willing to pullback from the government option of health care and, instead, offer a plan that features a government recognized co-op health care for those uninsured.”

Government co-op; interesting concept, but will it be government health care by another name?

Republican challenger announces his health care twon hall meeting, while the Democrat incumbent is silent on her plans. GOP Challenger Paul Smith (R-Sacramento) invited the Democrat Congresswoman Doris Matsui - she declined to attend and speak to Obama's health care bill.

President Obama "removes" the Public Opinion; Obama calls it a small "silver" in scope of his government health care ideology. How much did the "sliver" cost?

Now he changes; removes the public option.

Also; Northern California becomes a 'hot-bed' for Health Care Town Hall Meetings. Congressman Herger had to schedule a larger room, and GOP Challenger to 5th incumbent Doris Matsui is gathering great attention for his town hall meeting - one of only two in the country for a GOP challengers.

There is buyer’s remorse in Ohio over Obamacare, this has forced many Buckeye residents to use a midwestern adjective to describe the behavior of their Ohio Congressional Democrats.

Northeast Ohio is beginning to grow very angry over the Democrats "refusal to speak publicly about health care" and the Obamacare legislation. They are using language that is passionate.

There is buyer’s remorse in Ohio over Obamacare, this has forced many Buckeye residents to use a midwestern adjective to describe the behavior of their Ohio Congressional Democrats.

In the Buckeye State residents like to utilize a common cultural element of ‘animal excrement’ as a grammarian adjective that can describe individual behavior, lack of courage, or even a style of character.

The actual word is a ‘four-letter word’ that starts with the letter “s” (I am sure you are familiar), and you hear it often these days during family gatherings, high school football scrimmages and even the grocery check-out lines.
