There is an early leader for the Republican Gubernatorial nomination and it may not be all due to money, celebrity and Internet fame. Is Meg’s ’strategy’ winning her the early lead on the leader-board?

Since early February, Meg Whitman has been sheepish about her recently announced – again – run for Governor of California. For some, this has been frustrating, for others it may be a glimpse of something new for California politics, a candidate that knows how to stick to her strategy.

I believed that the Sacramento Bee’s reporting of Meg Whitman’s lack of voting, as well as her lack of registration, was something of old news yesterday.

Sure, we did read a new twist – that Meg Whitman may not have ever been registered before 2007. And her statements that she was registered as DTS (decline to state) in 2002 cannot be proven at this point in time.

But Meg has now made two campaign statements on this now; one a few months back, and today’s statement following yesterday’s print in the Bee and the LA Times.

But Poizner scored a few points, read the latest at HOGUE NEWS IN DEPTH this morning.

Is Meg’s ’strategy’ winning her the early lead on the leader-board?

For Meg, there seems to be nobody else on the course.

She’s playing her game, sticking to her strategy and focused on her clubs, distance and where she would like to be resting for the next hole. Thus far she is the leader on the leader board.

One wonders if this will hold true on the next eighteen holes, for the next round brings more hazards and closer competition. For those of us in the gallery we’re left wondering if there is anyone who can catch her, knock her off of her game or surpass her with a strategy of their own?

You knew someone would finally toss their hat into the ring along with State Senator Jeff Denham.

Today State Senator Sam Aanestead announced that he will raise the money to challenge Denham for the Republican Primary in June.

Here we have another example of the minority party dilemma; a statewide election that presents the neccessity of a conservative win and we start by fueling an in-party fight that will cost us millions inside of a great recession. Are we serving our principles or shooting ourselves in the shoot..worse yet in the head come November?

I was one conservative who wasn’t bothered by the President speaking to the nation’s school children; maybe I was mistaken if this is the result.

As a nation’s education goes, we have always taught our children patriotism.

Respect the flag, our Constitution and the liberty for which we stand – even those leaders who have defended our liberty, or even delivered a new realm of liberty.

We’ve sung songs about our founding fathers, military leaders and symbols of our great republic.

Our national anthem brings tears, the playing of ‘Taps’ sorrow and grief and the song God Bless America a petition of thankfulness.

We are a patriotic people; respectful, proud and at times we can make the error of being a slight bit jingoistic.

Praising someone by re-writing a song that described the love that Jesus had for all of creation is a tad bit creepy; I have never seen anything like this video’s presentation in America before:

Not only is he manipulating events is in Honduras, he now has his hand in Iran!

Some of the biggest oil traders are scaling back oil shipments to Iran in anticipating the US and other nations imposing sanctions on Iran due to their continued research on nuclear grade weapons.

BP stopped gas and oil shipment six months ago and Total, a French company would follow suit if the UN levies the sanctions.  Shell would not comment and US companies are barred already.

Now that Mike Duvall has gone away...

With the resignation of Mike Duvall now official, the next questions become who will replace him? And when will that individual take office? By official decree of Gov. Schwarzenegger we have the answer to the latter question. The primary election will be held on November 17, 2009 and then the runoff will be held nearly two months later on January 12, 2010.

The real question though is who are the potential candidates in that November primary election. According to a recent Orange County Register posting, the field is already starting to take shape.

Hillary's drive to drive the agenda...

Let me bring you up to speed on this nation of about 8 million.  The Obama admin headed by Secretary of State Hilary Clinton continues to thwart, conquer and divide this country for simply adhering to their own constitution.

Manuel Zelaya was removed from power by the rules of their own constitution.  The Obama administration calls the legal removal of  Zelaya as a ‘coup’.

To be a coup, it has to be outside the legal grounds of the country it occurs in.  However, in this case the removal of Zelaya was completely legal.  So what is our own Government doing?

Where is Obama on Sunday's...

Remember all of the media attention and frenzy immediately after the November election; many a reporter decided to tackle the question of “where would the new President and the First Family attend church” since his campaign and resume was full of church related rhetoric and scripture explained civic positions.

Television, newspapers and websites were jammed with speculation as to where Barack Obama and Michelle Obama would chose to worship in Washington DC.

Today it’s just ironic; the Obama’s have attended church only once – on Easter Sunday – while residing in Washington DC for over 9-months, and one wonders if this unreported, apathetic church presentation is another layer of revelation for the current administration.

Why is Carly Fiorina's campaign playing a game of denial on every negative issue that surrounds her early efforts for US Senate?

The difference is how severe they are to the relevance of the campaign, and how you decide to address them during the infancy of a campaign.

There is also a third option; ignoring the obvious with constant denials or statements of ignorance. This only emboldens the skeptics and matures the line of questioning the next time around.

If this is how we view other sovereign nations, how secure is our own Constitution?

The plight of Honduras gets the back page on a good day. I have written several articles on Honduras and the Obama administrations failing policy towards them.

There is a new definition of tax coming from the Oval Office.

Over the weekend, while most of us were enjoying the last summer capstone watching college and professional football take shape, President Obama was making his rounds on television. His purpose, to sell government health care and its growing epidemic of national debt.

The President made it to each network – except for Fox News of course in a sincere effort to refute Congressman Joe Wilson’s charge of lies, the theme of racism within disagreements and ever concerning developments in Afghanistan.

What Obama didn’t expect was serious questions from some of the media elite.

Weekend HOGUE NEWS IN DEPTH Headlines...

Most of us understand the strategy; Whitman has a war chest of millions of dollars, she has – in most cases – a double-digit lead in the polls and she has the attention of a majority of California voters due to her name and the celebrated success of eBay. Playing ‘not to lose’ may seem smart, but in the end the true champions are the ones who engage the race and defeat their opponents by calling plays that got them into position in the first place. I am sure Meg Whitman didn’t play ‘not to lose’ in leading eBay into a success it has become. Meg, time to call an audible; we are all eager to see you play and see if you have the stuff to lead Team California down the field to victory.

Finally, the mainstream media is starting to pay attention to the ACORN scandal. Yesterday, in Sacramento, I was met by KCRA-TV’s Kevin Riggs in the radio stations lobby at 11:30AM, asking if they could invade the studio and cover the callers, content and conversation surrounding California’s ACORN outbreak. What follows is the local NBC affiliates report. Here is the KCRA Video Report aired locally on the NBC affiliate, followed by the TV Station’s print edition on their local...

Will it lead us to the promised land? I have written about solar energy as it relates to large solar arrays and the huge amount of land that is needed.  Here is an update. Secretary of the Interior  Ken Salazar announced plans to blanket 1,000 square miles of land in Arizona, New Mexico, California, Colorado, and Utah with solar collectors.  He also dropped a bomb and said he wanted to generate 20% of our electricity from wind!  That translates to oh say about 186,000 50- story wind turbines...

For Carly Fiorina there are new battles to be waged and the most immediate fight surrounds the question of whether she did, or did not know about the Hewlett-Packard printers sold to Iran while she was the CEO of the company; there is no question that the transactions did take place. Once you get past the issue of Carly Firoina’s very vague voting record you hit the first major snafu surrounding her tenure as HP’s CEO, and her desire to unseat Barbra Boxer in Washington DC. What about...

Obama's coattails may be shortening...

It listed as many as 35 seats that could be lost in 2010 and with worst case projections of losing upwards of 55 seats!

The Obama coattails may only be a one time deal in 2008 and with Health Care and Cap and Trade playing miserably in main street America the 2010 elections may be a watershed for the Republican Party.

Has the pendulum swung back to common sense for America?
